My first year in secondary school has been a thrilling experience, full of ups and downs, but all-in-all it has been the best year of my school-life so far.
I was very excited about starting new subjects and new sports. My first class was very tense, people sat beside the people they knew, but after a few weeks new friendships were being made.
I was eager to start playing rugby. The players on TV made it look so easy but you'll never know how hard it is until you try it. Our first match most people were very cocky going onto the pitch, but by the end their smug smiles were wiped from their faces. Over the course of the year a few people left, but the people who stuck at it really came to love the sport, and it was a very rewarding experience.
I studied very hard for my Christmas exams, and was promoted to class 1-1. My new class has a great atmosphere, everybody wants to learn, and everybody gets on well together. The hour lunch break is brilliant because you have time to eat your lunch, and play table tennis, or go out and play football on the field. Sports Day was great fun, I was glad that I won a medal for the Puc Fada.
The best thing about De La Salle College is that I know that I am going to get a great education, and do well after I have finished school.
